SweetDream AI Review (2026)

Quick verdict

Choose SweetDream if you want an adult-first companion that does much more than text: hearing her voice, calling her, asking for photos or short videos, and building your own character from scratch. Look elsewhere if you want one simple monthly price with everything included, or the longest possible track record on privacy.

What SweetDream is

SweetDream (sweetdream.ai) is a browser-based AI companion platform built around adult relationships and roleplay. You pick a ready-made character — or design your own — and chat with her by text, voice and, on Premium, live calls. Alongside conversation it generates images and short videos of your companion on request.

The site lists 91 ready-made characters: 62 realistic AI girlfriends, 17 anime characters and 12 AI boyfriends. We profile 32 of the girlfriends on our companions page, with personality notes and conversation starters for each.

According to its website footer, SweetDream is operated by Tetractys Development Ltd, a UK company (Companies House no. 17171203) incorporated in April 2026. Earlier versions of the site listed a different operator, so the brand is older than the current company.

Features

Text chat and memory

Chat is the core of the app and is available on the free plan, with free messages every day. Premium advertises "3× speed" replies. SweetDream markets a Smart Memory feature so a companion keeps track of what you've told her; it doesn't publish technical details, so the honest test is whether she remembers your name and your last conversation the next day.

Voice messages and live calls

Companions can reply with voice messages (3 tokens each) in different voice styles. Premium adds live AI phone calls inside the browser — roughly 2 tokens per minute at the time of writing — and an option to have her call your real phone number at a higher token rate.

Video calls and LiveCam

Premium also unlocks video calls with SweetDream's featured characters and "LiveCam" pages. LiveCam is not real people: it's pre-recorded AI-character video with interactive actions you can trigger. Not every character supports video features.

AI photos and videos

Ask for a selfie, an outfit, a setting or a mood and SweetDream generates it. Images cost 8 tokens and short videos 80 tokens. Spicy (NSFW) images and videos, unblurred images and unlimited use of the "undress" tool are Premium benefits. Premium includes 400 tokens a month; beyond that you buy token packs — see our SweetDream pricing guide for the numbers.

Create your own AI girlfriend

The Premium character creator lets you pick a realistic or anime style, then shape her face, body, voice and personality. If you have a very specific partner in mind, this is one of SweetDream's strongest features.

Free vs Premium

SweetDream doesn't publish exactly how many free messages you get per day, so treat the free plan as a generous trial rather than an unlimited one. Premium is billed weekly, quarterly or yearly — the yearly plan works out at about $3.44 a week versus $12.99 on the weekly plan.

Privacy & safety

• Your chats are stored. SweetDream's privacy policy says conversation data may be used in anonymized, aggregated form to improve its AI. The same policy also mentions end-to-end encryption, which is hard to square with server-side storage — so assume staff and systems can access your chats and don't share identifying details.
• Discreet billing. Checkout accepts Visa and Mastercard and says no adult transaction appears on your bank statement. The terms also mention crypto payments.
• Content rules. Users must be 18+. The terms ban any content involving minors, non-consensual content and extreme violence.
• Refunds. The terms allow refund requests within 7 days for unused subscriptions; tokens are generally non-refundable but don't expire. Checkout wording about renewal has been inconsistent, so read it carefully before paying.
• Track record. SweetDream's Trustpilot page had only 2 reviews (TrustScore 3.7) when we checked — not enough to judge long-term reliability either way.

Pros and cons

Who SweetDream suits

SweetDream makes the most sense if you'll actually use the extras — calls, photos, video — because that's where it beats text-first apps. If you mainly want long, thoughtful text conversations and predictable pricing, compare it with the options in our best AI girlfriend apps roundup first. Starting on the free plan costs nothing and is the quickest way to see whether a character clicks.
